Christmas in Barcelona Spain

The hotel
Christmas in Barcelona has been an idea of my wife, I (as usual) preferred to stay home for Christmas; however this time I said " why not? "
So we organized our 4 days trip and all 4 (us + kids) left on the 23 of December heading to Barcelona International Airport, we arrived in the evening and stayed to a very nice, modern Hotel in the heart of old Barcelona streets not far from Placa Catalunya and las Ramblas. If you want to go to Barcelona I suggest you to go to our hotel the Petit Palace Boqueria Hotel with family rooms + free PC and internet + all comfort and brand new refreshed rooms with modern interior decoration.
In this photo the room we had.
The visit
First of all I want to say that the athmosphere in this town during Christmas was really magic! We could feel and smell the Chrismas holiday and we could visit it with a real nice 15° temperature, we almost felt at home (south Italy).
The first evening we went to eat at the Placa Real, a beautiful small squared Placa and choose one of the 5 restaurants, we tried la paella and our kids had some nice fresh fried seafood. We loved this little square full of porches and restaurants with all tables outsides and lots of people around chatting having fun in a very relaxed situation.
The day after we spent 6 hours (yes 6!) on the touristic bus doing both lines the Red (south city) and the Blu one (the north of the city). Thanks to this idea I could take lots of pics and we could also stop to visit important sites like La Sagrada Familia. Buses turned every 5 minutes so no problem of getting lost in town. The buses start and complete their journey always in Placa Catalunya in the very center of the city.
This day we went to eat on the local modern touristic port and naturally we eat Fresh Pescado! In the afternoon we took a siesta in the hotel for about an hour and after we walked to Placa Catalunya and went to "ice-skate" all of us! It was great to see our kids having fun and us trying to catch them up! very tired we went to have our dinner and later to sleep completely destroyed.
The 25th was Christmas and for the first time we did not eat like every year with our families and typical italian Christmas lunch...no this time we took a taxi and went to visit the Sacre Coeur on the Tibidabo hill. This hill is probably the richest place in Barcelona, full of beautiful villas and gardens going up we admired the most impressive Communication Antennas Tower ever seen. The tower reaches 288.4m (946 ft). Next to the church there is also the amusement park for families and kids, very old but still very actual and super clean full of colors....too bad that this day it was closed!
In the evening there was also time to see some old friends and have a drink together after our dinner in famous restaurant Los Caracolles in the old town. this Restaurant was very particular for its architecture (going up and) and also for its super old full of charme decoration done with wood. In this restaurant we could eat seafood and meet, choose very good spanish wine and try tapas. The athmosphere was very happy and we also met some italians with kids next to our table ending the evening with them.
The 26 was our last day in Spain, in the morning we walked a lot to take more pictures and visit more arriving untill the Modern Art Museum, and coming back from another street untill Mercado Santa Catarina. We had a lunch with different types of Tapas and at 2 PM we took our taxi to go back to Airport, by evening we were home in France tired but all happy!
Few infos for you for a family of 4
our average cost to eat a day was about 130 Euros
Hotel about 600 Euros for 3 nights no breakfast
The bus for 2 lines of trip 70 Euros all 4 valid the entire day
Taxi about 25 Euros each trip
